Short documentary Aquarium (2020) is a poetic portrait about the desire for genuine contact, created by director Sterre Slikkerveer and singer Milou Mignon.
In animation and filmed footage you enter the world of Kokob, an Eritrean man with a visual impairment. How does he manage to connect with the people in the city? For this documentary I made the animations, which had to visualize Kokobs thoughts and memories. I chose an analogue technique, using ink and pencils to create an tangible design.
I thought this would visualize Kokobs story best.
